Installation is straightforward and tool-free, utilizing included 3M adhesive and a magnet. It supports contact gaps up to 15 mm, suitable for most door and window types. This sensor operates on battery power (CR2032), providing a long-lasting battery life of over one to two years, depending on regional usage.

Important: The sensor requires a Tapo Hub or Tapo Homebase (sold separately) for operation, alarm functions, and to enable automation features. It operates on a Sub-1G frequency band compatible with the hub for stable communication. The device performs reliably within an operating temperature range of 0–40 °C.
