The Teltonika TRM500 is a rugged, compact industrial-grade 5G cellular modem designed for IoT and industrial applications needing ultra-fast and reliable wireless connectivity. It supports 5G Sub-6 GHz networks (SA/NSA) delivering blazing speeds of up to 3.4 Gbps downlink via 4x4 MIMO and up to 900 Mbps uplink, while offering backward compatibility with 4G LTE Cat19 (up to 1.6 Gbps DL) and 3G networks, ensuring broad network support.

Featuring a versatile USB Type-C interface, the TRM500 serves simultaneously as a data and power port, requiring a USB host capable of 5 V @ 3 A delivery. Additionally, it includes a 4-pin industrial DC power input supporting 9–30 V with built-in surge, overvoltage, and reverse polarity protections for secure and flexible powering options.

Durability is paramount with its anodized aluminium housing designed to withstand harsh environments, operating reliably between -40 °C and +75 °C with an IP30 ingress protection rating. The device is lightweight (~94.5 g) and compact (83 x 25 x 85.4 mm), making it ideal for DIN rail, wall, or flat surface mounting setups.

Connectivity is enhanced through four SMA swivel antenna connectors and a single Mini SIM (2FF) slot supporting 1.8 V/3 V SIM cards, complemented by clear status LEDs for power, 5G, and network activity.

Software-wise, the TRM500 supports various platforms with Windows Connection Manager, Linux Modem Manager, and multiple generic USB serial/RIL/NDIS drivers compatible across Windows, Linux, and Android ecosystems.
